old friends

I got an email today from an old friend. She and I were friends when we were kids, I mean really kids. I think we became friends in grade school and stayed very close until I moved away to another town about two weeks before my freshman year of high school started. We kept in contact off an on for a few years after that but like other people lost touch. What is nice is that there are those few people in your life who you may not see, talk to or even think about that much and then one day, you hear from them or you call them and boom- old times. I think that is a true friend. We have not been friends as adults but I think if we lived closer, I would really enjoy her company.
